Voice Concert Benefits NGFCM

Trinity Presbyterian Church  hosted a benefit concert for NGFCM on Sunday afternoon, September 18.  Lisa Barksdale, soprano and Lucie Svatonova, mezzo-soprano performed a delightful duet recital accompanied by Don Shabkie on the piano.  The varied program included selections by Antonin Dvorak and Fanny Mendelssohn Hensel.

Both women are collegiate voice teachers: Barksdale at Furman University, Svatonova at Prebyterian College and Erskine College; both women have been soloists with the Greenville Chorale and often sing together at Trinity.   

A generous donation from those who attended the concert was given to the work of North Greenville Food Crisis Ministry.  We appreciate sponsors Regent Bank, Theresa Horton, and Stan & Lynn Coleman for bringing these concerts to Travelers Rest.
